What You Should Know About AC-262536
AC-262 is a non-steroidal selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) that was created and introduced to the market by ACADIA Pharmaceuticals in San Diego, California.
Initial research on this SARM started in 2007 with animal studies and there have been no human trials or studies done on it since.
Nevertheless, the available data from animal studies show that AC-262 can protect the user against diseases like Alzheimer’s and prostate cancer while promoting sustainable muscle growth.
How AC-262536 Works
AC-262 works similarly to other SARMs because it interacts with androgen receptors in the bones and muscles without affecting sexual tissue. The body’s androgen receptor (AR) typically affects human sexual development, but once it has been activated by compounds like testosterone it can affect other parts of the body like the liver, muscles, bones and even the central nervous system.
The thing is that targeting AR signaling by taking testosterone comes with side-effects that impact the sex tissues. This means that in addition to developing strong bones and bigger muscles, you’ll also have an increased prostate cancer risk and shrinking testicles, while female bodybuilders can also experience an enlarged clitoris.
Unlike other SARMs, AC-262,536 avoids this by binding directly with the androgen receptor.
As a result, it activates the androgen receptor specifically in the cells that make up your bones and muscles without affecting sexual tissue or your liver enzymes.
People often compare this SARM to ACP-105 because both seem to be equally effective.
How Strong Is AC-262536?
Research shows that AC-262 provides more than 60% of the anabolic benefits that you’d get from taking testosterone, with only 27% of the androgenic activity.
Therefore, it’s safe to say that AC-262 has an anabolic: androgenic ratio of 2.45:1
Of course, this doesn’t mean that AC-262 won’t have any androgenic effects at all, because it’s a SARM after all. The prostate gland is usually the most affected sexual organ; hence it’s often used to measure a SARM’s androgenic effects.
Conventional SARMs like RAD-140 typically show an anabolic: androgenic ratio of 90:1 which is undoubtedly the highest reported ratio on the market.
This doesn’t necessarily mean that RAD-140 is better than AC-262 when it comes to improving performance, but it does show us what could possibly happen when you take a significantly high dosage of AC-262.
While there’s only a limited amount of research on AC-262, current evidence suggests that this SARM comes with the following benefits:
- Helps Increase Muscle Mass
A study conducted with rats over a period of two weeks showed that AC-262 can significantly increase the size of the pelvic muscle specifically, and it does so by improving anabolic parameters.
In this regard, AC-262 is comparable to testosterone with the only difference being that it doesn’t come with the same side effects.
- Can Be Used to Treat Alzheimer’s Disease
Acadia Pharmaceuticals conducted a study which showed that AC-262 is capable of increasing androgen receptor levels which helps to ward off diseases like Alzheimer’s.
The results of this study also indicate that AC-262 can increase spatial memory control.
Despite these positive results, it’s important to note that this study was done on mice and that there’s no conclusive evidence from human trials to support these findings.
- Could Help Prevent Prostate Cancer
AC-262 is said to reduce the risk of developing prostate cancer, thanks to its antagonizing effect on dihydroxytestosterone (DHT). This is important because DHT has been linked to the development of prostate cancer in many studies, as it acts to increase cell growth in the prostate region.
So it’s really awesome that AC-262 is able to minimize the effects of DHT.
- Decreases Luteinizing Hormone Levels
Recent research indicates that AC-262 can reduce your LH levels too. LH stands for Luteinizing Hormone, and although this hormone is beneficial to natural testosterone production, it can provide an ideal breeding ground for certain diseases that actually thrive on increased LH levels.
It’s important to note that despite its reduction of LH levels, AC-262 is still a potent SARM that produces muscle growth results that are similar to testosterone.
AC-262,536 Side Effects
Although AC-262 shows similar results to testosterone, it doesn’t lead to the same side-effects, namely shrinkage of the testicles and prostate enlargement. Instead, AC-262 functions much like other SARMs and doesn’t come with adverse side-effects.
However, it’s important to keep in mind that no long-term studies have been conducted on AC-262 to prove its efficacy over the long term, so there’s no saying what side effects will be discovered (if any) once proper research is conducted.
How to Dose AC-252536
AC-262,536 research studies that have been conducted on rats use a dosage of between 10mg/kg to 30mg/kg.
At the moment, it’s difficult to use this as a benchmark to come up with a dosage that would be effective for humans without producing adverse side-effects. Experiments and human trial studies need to be conducted in order to ascertain the right dosage of AC-262.
Due to the limited data available, we’ll just have to stick to the 10mg to 30mg that has been suggested by researchers so far.
Is Post Cycle Therapy(PCT) Needed?
As with any SARM, it’s important to do post cycle therapy (PCT) when taking AC-262. This will help you maintain the muscle mass that you gained while taking the SARM and burn fat while boosting your mood and energy levels.
Cycling SARMs is also important because it balances your hormones so that you don’t develop a dependency on it.
The amount of time that you spend on the PCT should be congruent with the amount of time you spend taking the SARM as well. This means that if you were to take AC-262 for 12 weeks, then you should do PCT for 12 weeks as well to help reach a state of hormonal equilibrium again.
While it’s not essential for you to take a PCT while doing SARMs, you should still take a mini PCT for a minimum of 4 weeks just to be on the safe side. Some bodybuilders recommend Test Booster for this purpose.
Remember that no clinical trials have been conducted on AC-262 so there’s no telling what effect it could have on your hormone levels, so you’ll do well to do a PCT cycle.
As you can see, AC-262 is a powerful SARM that could add a lot of value to your performance and overall results. No clinical trials have been done on this SARM yet and only a select number of bodybuilders and athletes have tried it.
