DMHA: Does It Work?

What is DMHA?

DMHA (Octodrine) is a psychoactive central nervous system stimulant and was originally used against nasal congestion but has recently started popping up in different pre workouts and fat burning formulas.

The molecular structure of DMHA is very similar to that of DMAA, which is why DMHA is often referred to as DMAA’s twin brother.

DMHA

DMHA, also known as Octodrine, Dimethylhexylamine or 2-Aminoisoheptane is a very potent stimulant. When speaking of 2-aminoisoheptane, it is available in two types:

  • 2-Amino-5-Methylheptane
  • 2-Amino-6-Methylheptane

Usually, the 2-Amino-6-Methylheptane is used in Prework outs and Fat Burners. This is mainly because this form has been researched the most. Besides that, it is also much cheaper and convenient for supplement companies to use.

Unfortunately, there are only a few studies available on DMHA. However, due to the fact that DMHA’s structure is very similar to DMAA, it is said that it shares similar pathways. This means that you can expect similar functions such as a burst in energy levels, improved focus and decreased appetite.

It is also worth mentioning that this particular stimulant will improve airflow throughout the body.

As you might already know the popular stimulant DMAA was banned back in 2012. Because DMHA and DMAA are so similar who knows how long it will be available for. As for now, Octodrine is not banned in the USA and completely legal to purchase.

What to expect from DMHA?

DMHA is hands down a great stimulant, which is, of course, the reason why it has been reintroduced to the supplement industry. You can expect the following effects:

  • Increased energy levels
  • Increased mental focus
  • Reduced appetite
  • Bronchial dilation
  • Fat burning properties
  • Reduced fatigue

You will often find DMHA in different fat burners or pre-workout products. It has become one of the main stimulants for pre-workout products because it is rather unique.

For those who have tried DMAA, you can expect DMHA to give you the same effects. Some people even claim that Octodrine is better, but that might just be personal preference. The effects are often compared to those of Ephedrine and AMP Citrate, two banned substances.

Anecdotal experiences claim that Octodrine has helped them push through rough workouts and strength plateaus. Some users even are able to set new personal records in the gym whilst using this strong stimulant.

Does DMHA have side effects?

Just like every other powerful stimulant, there are some side effects associated with their use. The main reported side effects are:

  • Nausea
  • Energy crash after use
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Heart palpitations

Keep in mind the dosage will also play a huge factor in whether or not you experience the negative side effects. There will always be an irresponsible individual taking too much too soon causing them to experience a lot of bad side effects.

Long term use will also lead to a high tolerance, you don’t want to end up being addicted to this stuff. If you do end up purchasing something like a pre-workout with DMHA, make sure to take a safe approach.

This means that you should start out with just half a scoop to see how you react to the compound. Besides that, you should also cycle it on and off.

Do not run stimulants for longer periods of time, just take it for 1 to 2 months and than take a few weeks off without any stimulants. This is essential so that you don’t get used to any of the products.

DMHA Pre Workout

As we all know there are plenty of pre-workouts out there, but just how many of them actually do the job?
Your typical pre-workout consists of Cafeïne, Beta-alanine, L-Citrulline and that is about it. No fancy stimulants, nothing. This was the main reason I started searching for a new pre-workout, something stronger.

After doing some research online I came to the conclusion that this is the best DMHA Preworkout available on the market right now. Trust me when I say this is a very strong DMHA Pre Workout.

DMHA Pre Workout

I personally have ordered the RAGE Preworkout by Enhanced Athlete after reading tons of positive reviews online. The great thing is, you can simply order the RAGE DMHA Pre Workout off the Enhanced Athlete website.

Once I took a look at the ingredients, there it was. 120mg of 2-Aminoisoheptane (Octodrine) combined with a lot of other essential ingredients. You can tell Enhanced Athlete actually took the formulating of this DMHA Pre workout very seriously, unlike other supplement companies.

Having tried the RAGE DMHA Pre Workout myself, I have to say I am very impressed with the strength of this stuff. The effects are very comparable to old DMAA pre workouts so you can definitely expect the same focus and energy boost.

DMHA VS DMAA

A lot of people are curious about how DMHA compares to DMAA. There are a lot of discussions surrounding this topic, the main question seems to be which is better, DMHA or DMAA? First, let’s take a look at the similarity in molecule structure.

DMHA vs DMAA

These two chemical structures are almost the same, which is why DMHA is often referred to as DMAA’s twin brother. Now, most of you are probably not interested in the science behind this stuff – you just want to know which one is better.

There are a lot of mixed opinions of which one is stronger when it comes down to just DMHA vs DMAA. Honestly, I think it all comes down to personal preference. In my opinion, the effects of DMHA vs DMAA are very alike. Both are able to give you great focus and energy bursts.

DMHA is still available on the market for now. There are still some supplement companies out there carrying pre-workouts that contain it, so make sure to stock up while you can. As long as you don’t do anything crazy dosage wise I think DMHA can be safe to use.
